WHO IS THE APPLICANT?
- A company dedicated to clean energy projects with over 10 years of experience. Delivering up to 700MW of Solar and Battery projects in Great Britain, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
WHY IS SOLAR PV AND BESS IMPORTANT
- Scotland is aiming to achieve net-zero by 2045.
- Battery projects let us store excess renewable energy until it is needed – plugging the gap.
- Co-locating battery storage with solar developments maximises land efficiency and reduces grid connection costs, creating more economically viable clean energy projects.
- Solar generation paired with battery storage provides a more reliable renewable energy solution, capturing daytime solar production for use during peak evening demand periods.

LOCATION
- The development will connect to the Kintore 2 33kv Grid Supply Point via underground cable.
- There is available grid capacity at this location.
- There are very few suitable locations in Scotland such as this.
- The application site is located on land South of Kintore, Aberdeenshire, AB51 0XH.
- The proposed site is approximately 99 hectares.

SITE LAYOUT
- Solar Photovoltaic (59,866x panels) with up to 50MW of capacity and containerised battery storage facility (15x containers) with up to 40MW of energy storage.
- Circa 4.788- metre-long arrays at a height of approx. 2.788 metres.
- An access track, electricity meter building, fences and related equipment would make up the development.
- Contains specific panels that transforms sunlight into clean generation and BESS that stores electricity that returns to the grid as necessary. Allows more green energy to be added to the grid mix.
- This balances the grid’s supply and demand.
- The existing hedgerows and trees will be retained, and a belt of new planting and other native trees and plants is proposed to fully screen the development.
